Precautions when using rubber roller

Printing rubber roller are mainly used to transfer ink on offset printing machines. Therefore, the rubber roller must be carefully cleaned during daily cleaning. Otherwise, the surface layer of rubber roller, pigments and resins are easy to oxidize to form a smooth and hard film, which will cause the surface vitrification and affect ink transmission. If it is not cleaned frequently, the surface of the rubber roller will be uneven over time, which will affect the use. Therefore, the rubber roller shall be cleaned and put aside for standby during shutdown.

In offset printing operation, ink emulsion is produced due to "large water and large ink", which forms a hydrophilic base on smooth cots and makes it deinked. The solution is to shovel off the emulsified ink, wash the deinking cots with gasoline, mix and polish them with 5% sodium hydroxide aqueous solution and pumice powder, and at the same time, treat the metal rolls (or hard rolls) accordingly. Hard roll can also be polished with fine water sand under the condition of water sprinkling. Pay attention not to stay at the same position, otherwise the rubber roll will be damaged. The basic way is to control the pH value of the bucket liquid and do a good job of ink balance.

The cots have been used for too long and aged, coupled with the erosion of chemicals, which causes the glue to be broken and the "residue" to fall. Such cots should not be used again, otherwise the quality of printed matter will be seriously affected.

To ensure that production and printing quality will not be affected, a spare ink roller must be provided, but do not store too much to avoid aging. The storage environment of cots is the same as that of blanket. In addition, the cots should be mounted flat and straight at the journal, and the surfaces should not contact each other or other objects to avoid deformation of the cots.

Rubber roller shall not be stored near large motors and generators. Because a large amount of ozone generated by these equipment will make the surface of rubber roller aging and cracking.

If the printing ink is uneven in cold weather, auxiliary materials can be properly added to the printing ink. It is prohibited to bake the printing ink rubber roller with infrared heaters and other equipment to prevent the rubber roller from oxidation
